Suturing Clinic
In this workshop, students learn and practice basic wound closure techniques. We provide individual suturing kits, which include medical instruments and faux skin pads with pre-cut lacerations.
Suture America instructors guide participants step-by-step as they practice several different types of sutures.
Vitals Workshop
Participants learn how to take and read standard medical vitals. We supply the necessary equipment and instruct students on how to accurately measure blood pressure, pulse oximetry, respiratory rate, and temperature, while explaining the clinical relevance of each metric.
Pathway to Medicine
This session offers practical advice for pre-med and pre-health students. We break down the medical school application process, covering course requirements, clinical volunteering, shadowing, and research, to help students plan their academic and extracurricular schedules.
Heat, Hydration, & Health
This presentation covers the basics of body temperature regulation and proper hydration. We teach participants how to identify and respond to common heat-related illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and heatstroke,focusing on preventive safety measures tailored to the Phoenix Valley environment.
First Aid
We teach basic first aid skills for everyday accidents and minor medical situations. Topics include scene assessment, managing bleeding, treating burns, stabilizing minor injuries, and standard wound care.
